We will be posting all sorts of things on this blog, both photography related and not! So we hope you keep checking back for lots of exciting ideas, and get to know us while you do:)
Have you tried the potato stamping project that is all over pinterest yet? Even though most pinterest projects don't turn out quite like i imagined, this one did. Since we live pretty far out in the country, I'm always looking for projects that only require things I already have. Even better is if our craft can somehow be useful/ turn into artwork. This one was all of the above!
All you really need is paint, a potato or two, and your husband's sweet jack knife (or, any knife).
Next, find yourself a few cuties, these ones are mine:) Don't forget the dinosaurs.
I cut the potato, then traced a heart on it to make it a little easier to carve.
Then get out some plates, spread the paint, and let them stamp! I did a few to show them how to do it, and then I used some heavier weight paper and worked on my own to use as artwork for my daughters room. Wearing heart pants definitely added to the fun.
They turned out cute, but mostly they just had fun. I like that this could be used for Valentine's day, but if you're like me and just like hearts, you could use it for cards, parties, or a gift for Grandma. Enjoy!
